Easter with Pastor Chris: He is Risen and Alive Forevermore!

Easter is the triumphant celebration of the greatest event in human history: the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This year, the ‘Year of Completeness‘, at Christ Embassy, under the leadership of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, Easter is a deeply meaningful time of reflection, thanksgiving, and rejoicing. It is a reminder that death was defeated, and eternal life was made available to all who believe.

In a powerful message shared by Pastor Chris, the journey of Christ’s death and resurrection is brought to life in a moving and vivid retelling.

“The priests were done with Jesus. The Romans were done with him. And they buried him.”

Pastor Chris beautifully captures the energy of Easter.

The Journey of Christ’s Death

The world thought it had silenced the Messiah. After crucifying Him, the religious leaders remembered that Jesus had said He would rise again. Dismissing Him as a deceiver, they took extreme precautions to prevent any possibility of that prophecy being fulfilled. They secured permission from the governor to seal the tomb, rolled a massive stone across the entrance, and stationed guards to keep watch.

The first day passed in silence. The disciples were shattered, overwhelmed with grief and confusion. They were in hiding—ashamed, disillusioned, and heartbroken. They had left their homes, careers, and families to follow Jesus, believing He was the Son of God. Now, He was dead.

And so came the scorn. Mockers sneered, “If He were the Son of God, He wouldn’t die. God doesn’t die.” Their hopes seemed buried with Him.

But then, the third day came.

Women who visited the tomb found it open and empty. They rushed to the disciples with the breathtaking news: Jesus is alive!

Peter and John raced to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away and the tomb empty. When John looked in and saw for himself, the Bible says he believed. This wasn’t just the return of a beloved teacher. This was the fulfillment of prophecy. This was the dawn of a new reality. Jesus had conquered death. He had risen, just as He said.

Celebrating Jesus at Easter

Pastor Chris beautifully captures the energy of this moment. Jesus didn’t come in quietly or reserved. He wasn’t there to say, “I told you so.” He came in rejoicing, celebrating, victorious.

“Jesus was an exciting person,” Pastor Chris emphasized. “You can tell with that that His meetings were not so quiet!”

This is the Jesus we celebrate at Easter—a living Savior, victorious, full of joy, and overflowing with love. His resurrection is the evidence of our justification. His victory is our victory. His life is now our life.

At Christ Embassy, Easter is a time when we boldly proclaim that Jesus is not in the grave—He is risen and alive forevermore!

It’s not just a story of the past. The resurrection power of Jesus is at work today, transforming lives, healing the sick, and bringing hope to a broken world. As Pastor Chris often teaches, the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in us. We are not victims in this life—we are more than conquerors because He lives!

So, this Easter, as we gather in churches, homes, and online around the world, we do so with the assurance that the tomb is still empty. Jesus defeated sin, death, and the grave—not just for Himself, but for us.

He is alive, and because He lives, we live also.

Happy Easter from Christ Embassy. Rejoice and celebrate—He is Risen!
