The atmosphere was charged with excitement as believers from all over the world tuned in for the July Global Communion Service with Pastor Chris Oyakhilome. As is tradition, millions eagerly anticipated the prophetic word that would set the course for the new month—and they were not disappointed. With heartfelt joy, Pastor Chris declared July to be “The Month of Joy”, ushering the global congregation into a season of celebration, thanksgiving, and fellowship.

A Season of Thanksgiving and Fellowship
July has always held special significance within the global Christ Embassy family. It follows June, the ‘Month of Prayer‘, where members devote themselves to intensive prayer and spiritual alignment. Naturally, July becomes a time to celebrate God’s goodness, reflect on His faithfulness, and rejoice in His love.
“July is a special thanksgiving month, so we call it the Month of Joy,” Pastor Chris announced, as thousands rejoiced across continents.
This declaration is more than just a theme, it’s a divine instruction. As Pastor Chris emphasized during the service, members are requested to organize special fellowship meetings with food, songs of praise, exhortations, and testimonies throughout the entire month. These gatherings aren’t merely social events—they are spiritual celebrations of God’s abundant blessings and goodness.
Fellowship with Food, Praise, and Testimonies
One of the unique aspects of the ‘Month of Joy’ is the emphasis on communal fellowship. Pastor Chris made it clear that these gatherings should be marked by love, unity, and heartfelt thanksgiving. Importantly, the food shared during these gatherings should be prepared by members themselves—a beautiful symbol of togetherness and generosity within the church.
“You’re supposed to eat together, eat and drink together,” Pastor Chris instructed. “No buying of the food. All the food must be prepared by the members of the church.”
Beyond the meals, these fellowships are spiritual in nature. Every gathering should include:
✅ Songs of praise and thanksgiving to God
✅ Uplifting exhortations from God’s Word
✅ Inspiring testimonies of God’s goodness
✅ Joyful prayers and declarations of faith
These simple but powerful elements have become a cherished tradition within the Christ Embassy family, transforming homes, churches, and communities into vibrant hubs of joy and celebration.
Joy: More Than Just a Feeling
For Pastor Chris, joy is not merely an emotion, it is a product of the Spirit and a vital expression of faith. The scriptures remind us that “the joy of the Lord is your strength” (Nehemiah 8:10). By rejoicing in the Lord, believers are empowered, refreshed, and positioned for greater victories.
The ‘Month of Joy’ serves as a reminder to believers everywhere to cultivate joy intentionally. It is an opportunity to lift our hearts in gratitude for all that God has done and to declare His goodness with boldness.
In previous years, testimonies have poured in from around the world during the ‘Month of Joy’—stories of miraculous healings, unexpected breakthroughs, restored families, and new opportunities. As believers embraced joy and thanksgiving, they opened themselves to experience even more of God’s power at work in their lives. This year promises to be no different.
